ADVERTISING

1. Purpose

This Advertising Policy outlines the standards and guidelines for all advertising, sponsorships, and promotional content across all digital and physical platforms operated by Africa Gaming Expo (AGE) Limited. The policy ensures that all advertisements align with AGE's mission, values, and applicable laws and regulations.

2. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • Banner and display ads on the AGE official website
  • Sponsored content on AGE Insights and Media Library
  • Sponsored social media posts and event promotions
  • Advertising within AGE Mobile Apps
  • CRM-integrated email marketing campaigns
  • Third-party advertisements on AGE-affiliated platforms

3. General Advertising Standards

All advertisements must:

  • Be factually accurate, non-deceptive, and clearly distinguishable from editorial or organic content.
  • Comply with all applicable Nigerian laws, regulations, and advertising standards, including guidelines by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON).
  • Respect international advertising codes such as those by IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) and WFA (World Federation of Advertisers).
  • Align with AGE’s ethical standards and corporate values.

4. Prohibited Advertising Content

AGE does not accept ads that:

  • Promote illegal, discriminatory, hateful, or defamatory content
  • Involve misleading, deceptive, or fraudulent claims
  • Promote products or services not legally permitted in Nigeria or regions where AGE operates
  • Contain adult content, sexually explicit material, or violence
  • Advertise or promote unlicensed gambling or gaming products
  • Infringe on third-party intellectual property rights

5. Acceptable Advertising Categories

AGE may allow advertisements from:

  • Licensed gaming and betting companies
  • Fintech and payment solutions providers
  • Software, IT, and AI companies
  • Gaming hardware manufacturers
  • Training institutes and tech accelerators
  • Government, regulatory, and advocacy groups
  • Other businesses relevant to the gaming and digital ecosystem in Africa

6. Ad Labelling and Disclosure

  • All paid or sponsored content will be clearly marked as “Sponsored”, “Promoted”, or “Advertisement.”
  • Native advertising must maintain a clear distinction between promotional and editorial content.
  • Influencer collaborations or endorsements must be transparent and compliant with local disclosure requirements.

7. Placement & Editorial Integrity

  • Advertisement placement will not influence AGE editorial content, conference agenda, or reporting.
  • AGE reserves the right to reject or remove any advertisement at its sole discretion, especially if deemed incompatible with its mission or audience interests.

8. Technical Requirements

Digital ads must:

  • Meet AGE’s ad size, format, and file size specifications
  • Not interfere with site speed, mobile responsiveness, or user experience
  • Be free from malware, auto-redirects, or intrusive behavior (e.g., pop-ups that cannot be closed)

9. Data Privacy and Tracking

  • Advertisers must comply with AGE’s Legal Policy and applicable data protection laws (e.g., Nigeria Data Protection Act, GDPR).
  • Use of cookies or tracking pixels must be disclosed and require prior user consent where applicable.

10. Sponsored Events and Exhibitor Promotions

Sponsors and exhibitors at AGE events may receive advertising rights as part of their packages. These promotions must still conform to this policy and will be reviewed by the AGE Marketing & Legal Team prior to approval.

11. Ad Review & Approval Process

All ad creatives must be submitted for review and approval to the AGE Advertising & Compliance Team at least 5 working days before the campaign start date. AGE may:

  • Request revisions or clarifications
  • Provide feedback on creative or messaging
  • Reject ads that do not meet policy criteria

12. Policy Violations

  • Remove ads without refund if they breach this policy
  • Suspend advertiser privileges
  • Report violations to regulatory bodies where necessary
