PawaTech Group, the leading technology company behind Africa’s largest betting brand, betPawa, received prestigious recognition at the Africa Gaming Expo 2025, held from February 24–27 at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre, Lagos.
The expo, a premier gathering of industry leaders in gaming, fintech, and banking, provided a platform to explore emerging trends, share insights, and showcase innovations shaping the sector. In recognition of its role in advancing the gaming industry, PawaTech was honored as an Anchor Partner of the expo, with the award presented to the company’s Chief Operating Officer, Dan Thomson.
Additionally, Olabimpe Akingba, Regional Manager for Business Development, was awarded the Women in Gaming Level Up Award for her exceptional contributions to the industry. Akingba also participated in key panel discussions, including "Responsible Gaming Practices Enhanced by Technology" and "The Rise of Women in Gaming," where she emphasized the importance of inclusive workplace policies and the development of products tailored to female customers.
PawaTech’s Regional Manager for Partnerships, Nii Armah Ashong-Katai, contributed to the panel on "Sports Betting and Local Leagues: Balancing Integrity and Revenue Generation," addressing the challenges and opportunities in maintaining integrity while driving revenue growth.
